Hackensack man charged after alleged threatening calls to Valley Hospital in Paramus
Police say a caller told hospital staff to "have their guns ready" before officers identified and arrested a suspect at the hospital.

A Hackensack man has been charged with creating a false public alarm after allegedly making threatening phone calls to Valley Hospital in Paramus, police said.
Paramus police responded to the hospital at 4 Valley Health Plaza at about 10:53 a.m. Tuesday after hospital security reported receiving two suspicious phone calls. During one of the calls, the caller allegedly said, “Tell them to have their guns ready,” according to Police Chief Robert Guidetti.
The department launched an investigation and determined the calls came from a cellphone associated with Rashaune A. Herbert, 44, of Hackensack, police said.
Police said Herbert was located at the hospital, arrested without incident and taken to Paramus police headquarters for processing. He was later taken to the Bergen County Jail.
Herbert is charged with creating a false public alarm.
