WHAT TO KNOW

The driest stretch of the year continues across Brooklyn and will last for the next several days. It's warm and breezy today with plenty of sunshine and temperatures approaching 70 degrees. Noticeably cooler air arrives tonight and remains in place through the weekend. Rain chances return next week while temperatures stay above average for early November.

RIGHT NOW

It's a mild start to the morning in Brooklyn, with temperatures near 60 degrees under partly cloudy skies. A light west wind is blowing around 10 mph.

TODAY

Expect abundant sunshine throughout the afternoon with highs reaching around 70 degrees across Brooklyn. A gusty northwest wind will develop at 10 to 20 mph, with occasional gusts up to 30 mph. The combination of dry conditions, low humidity, and gusty winds creates an elevated risk for brush and fire spread.

TONIGHT

Temperatures will remain comfortable through the evening, holding in the mid-50s before turning cooler overnight. Lows will settle near 50 degrees, while the breeze makes it feel closer to the mid-40s by daybreak.

HALLOWEEN - SATURDAY

Halloween will be bright but brisk across Brooklyn. Morning temperatures start in the lower 50s, and despite sunshine, many neighborhoods will remain in the upper 50s through much of the afternoon. A light north wind of 5 to 10 mph will add a chill to the air, especially near the waterfront.

SUNDAY - NOVEMBER 1

It's a chilly start to the day, especially for anyone heading out early. Morning lows will be near 40 degrees with partly cloudy skies and light winds. Temperatures stay in the 40s through mid-morning before climbing to around 60 degrees during the afternoon. Winds remain light and variable throughout the day.

NEXT WEEK

Dry and relatively mild weather continues for much of the workweek, with afternoon highs climbing close to 70 degrees. The next meaningful chance for rain arrives Thursday evening and could linger into Friday. At this point, only a slight chance of additional showers is expected next weekend.

COLDER WEATHER AHEAD

A more seasonable chill is expected after next week. Afternoon highs will generally be in the upper 40s and 50s, and the first widespread freeze of the season across the New York City region could arrive by the middle of November.
