Police are asking for the public's help identifying a suspect wanted in connection with a shooting on Stratford Avenue on Saturday.

Officers responded to the area between Clinton and Avon avenues around 7 p.m. after the department's ShotSpotter system detected gunfire.

Upon arrival, responding officers canvassed the scene and recovered seven 9mm shell casings. Gunfire struck a portable sign, a property window and a vehicle window. No injuries were reported.

Investigators described the suspect as a Black male with an athletic build, standing approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing around 180 pounds. He has long dreadlocks and was last seen wearing jeans and black sneakers as he fled northbound into Jesse Allen Park.

During their search of the area, officers recovered a ripped black T-shirt, a ripped white tank top, and three strands of dreadlock hair as evidence.
