Police are looking for a man they say pushed a 47-year-old man onto an incoming train in Fordham Heights.

The assault happened on June 27 on the D train platform inside the Fordham Road and Grand Concourse subway station just before 2:30 p.m.

Police say the 47-year-old man was on the platform when he was approached by an unknown man. The man pushed the 47-year-old into an arriving D train. Luckily, the 47-year-old did not fall onto the tracks.

The victim suffered injuries to his mouth and face from hitting the moving train car. He was transported by EMS to St. Barnabas Hospital and is expected to be OK.

The assailant fled on foot in an unknown direction.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
