Commuters are facing major transit disruptions across parts of New Jersey as crews continue repairing damage from this weekend’s severe storms.
NJ Transit says the Morris & Essex Line is operating with limited service in and out of New York Penn Station.
Service on the Gladstone Branch is suspended as crews work to clear debris and repair storm damage.
Officials are urging riders to plan for additional travel time.
NJ Transit said tickets and passes for the Morris & Essex Line and Gladstone Branch will be cross-honored on the Raritan Valley and Montclair-Boonton lines.
The transit problems come as many communities continue dealing with power outages and storm cleanup.
In Summit, a section of Broad Street remains closed because of a low-hanging power line.
Officials are reminding residents to stay away from downed or low-hanging wires and report them to utility companies because they could still be energized.
According to FirstEnergy, nearly 15% of Summit customers were without power Monday morning, affecting about 1,300 customers.
Power is not expected to be fully restored in the city until July 9 at 11:30 p.m.
PSE&G NJ reports more than 1,000 active outages as of this morning. Over 16,000 customers are affected.
