A man is facing felony charges after police say a fight at an Orange County bar turned violent and left a person seriously injured.

Town of Montgomery police say the incident happened around 10:30 p.m. Friday at Copperfield’s Pub on Clinton Street.

Authorities say William Hassler had previously been banned from the bar.

When he was asked to leave, police say he became involved in a physical fight.

Investigators allege Hassler bit off part of another person's ear during the altercation.

Police say several people tried to restrain him while waiting for officers to arrive.

Authorities say Hassler continued acting violently during his arrest, allegedly kicking an officer multiple times and spitting in an officer's face.

Hassler is charged with assault and trespassing.

He was arraigned and remanded to the Orange County Jail.
