WHAT TO KNOW
Thursday looks like another mainly nice day across the region. Getting the day started, temperatures will be very similar to Wednesday with open skies throughout much of the day. As the afternoon approaches, a slow-moving system from the west will bring a warm front later in the afternoon. This will lead to a little more humid and warmer conditions this evening, which will set the stage for clouds to develop, then rain and thunderstorms overnight into early Friday morning.
You won't need the rain gear today. However, on Friday morning, you may want to bring an umbrella with you for any lingering rain showers to start the day. Friday will see improved conditions quickly. Skies will still share some clouds along with sunshine, but rain chances will hold off until overnight into early Saturday morning.
The weekend will start off with some rain Saturday morning and temperatures cooler than normal due to a weak cold front moving through the area. Following Saturday, we are about to enter a stretch of warm and dry conditions as we get closer to the holiday weekend.

Tonight: Mostly cloudy, a chance for scattered rain and thunderstorms. Lows in the mid-60s.
Friday: Showers are likely with a chance for thunderstorms, especially later in the day. Highs in the upper 70s to low 80s.
Saturday: Lingering showers are possible early, followed by gradual improvement through the day. Highs in the upper 70s to near 80 degrees.
Sunday: Sunny and warmer with highs in the low to mid-80s.
Monday: Mostly sunny and summer-like with highs in the mid to upper 80s.
Tuesday: Mostly sunny and warm with highs in the mid to upper 80s.
