A 20-year-old man was slashed in the neck during the Knicks championship parade, police say.
Police sources say he was slashed with a glass bottle. The attack unfolded outside 1 Centre St., steps from City Hall Park, at around 11:50 a.m. Thursday.
Officers found the man conscious and alert with a slash wound to his neck, according to the NYPD.
Police took him to Bellevue Hospital, where they say he is expected to recover.
Information about the person who slashed the 20-year-old or what led up to the attack was not immediately made available.
The FDNY says that at least 79 parade attendees were injured - 42 of those people were transported to nearby hospitals in varying conditions, while the remaining 37 were treated for minor injuries at the scene.
The injuries included heat-related emergencies, asthma incidents and other minor injuries, according to fire officials.
