A 5-year-old boy is in critical condition after police say he was found unresponsive in a neighbor’s pool Friday night in Highland Mills.
According to Woodbury police, the child was reported missing around 6:35 p.m. while being watched by an older sibling in the area of Woodbury Road.
Authorities say the boy was later found face down in a neighbor’s pool.

Police say a Woodbury officer and a Cornwall police sergeant rushed the child to St. Luke’s Hospital in a police vehicle while CPR continued during the drive. Officials say local police departments also shut down roads to help clear the way to the hospital.
Cornwall police say Sgt. Jeffrey Marinan arrived at the scene and performed CPR alongside two bystanders before helping transport the child with a Hatzolah EMS EMT continuing lifesaving efforts in the back seat.
The child was later flown to Westchester Medical Center and remains in critical condition.
