Ocean County man sentenced to 10 years for attempted murder of mother
Investigators said Cavallaro and his mother had been arguing before the dispute turned physical.

A Manchester man was sentenced to 10 years in prison for attacking his mother inside her mobile home, Ocean County prosecutors said.
Joseph Cavallaro, 45, was sentenced April 23 after previously pleading guilty to attempted murder.
Authorities said Manchester police responded June 27, 2025, to the Pine Acres Manor Mobile Home Community for a report of a woman in distress inside a mobile home.

Officers found a 71-year-old woman with serious injuries to her face and body. She was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, where she was treated and later released.
Investigators said Cavallaro and his mother had been arguing before the dispute turned physical. Prosecutors said Cavallaro assaulted her, causing her to lose consciousness and suffer a concussion, fractured ribs, a fractured skull and facial fractures.
Cavallaro was arrested that day and has remained in the Ocean County Jail since.
