A woman convicted of torturing and killing her domestic partner in New Rochelle has been sentenced to life in prison without parole.

Officials say the decomposing body of Concetta Morton was discovered on the third floor of a multifamily apartment three years ago.

Kenya Tilford was accused of torturing her for three months before ultimately killing her.

She was found guilty of all counts in the historic case last month.

Those charges included murder, concealment of a human corpse and intimidating a victim or witness.

Attorneys for Tilford say they plan to appeal the sentence.
