Residents at 1920 Walton Ave. in Tremont say ongoing drug use and large parties inside their apartment building are making them feel unsafe.

Those residents tell News 12 that people often gather in the lobby at night and leave behind trash and what appear to be drugs.

Some shared photos exclusively with News 12. Those photos show people passed out and sleeping in common areas, along with motorcycles left in the halls and people sitting in picnic chairs.

“It makes me feel scared,” said one resident named Isabel. “I don’t feel secure in this building.”

The building’s superintendent, Alberto, says he’s repeatedly cleaning up the mess, but the issue keeps coming back. He says it sometimes turns confrontational when he tries to remove people.

"Sometimes I try to take them out, but they try to fight me," said Alberto.

News 12 reached out to building management and is waiting for a response.
