Collapsed storm drain in University Heights is raising safety concerns in the community
There are Department of Environmental Protection cones placed around the area and a plank of wood to cover the hole, but residents say that's only a quick fix.

A collapsed storm drain on Cedar Avenue and West Fordham Road is riddled with trash and wood.
Shudana, who works across the street, says this is a huge safety concern.
"It's dangerous. They should already have fixed it. Because if it's a hole, someone could break their ankle or foot in it. What if there's a child playing around there and they fall right in? That's another issue," she says.
This catch basin is not only at a crosswalk, but it's also right next to a bus stop.
"That too, because the bus…it doesn't always stop exactly at the bus stop…And if they fall out or if somebody jumps out, they could just hurt themselves," says Shudana.

"It should be fixed. It's a waste of time for you to come out twice. Just fix it the first time. That way you don't have to keep coming back, and you don't have to keep paying someone to keep coming back," she says.
News 12 has reached out to the DEP who says they will send a crew to fix the storm drain.
