What a difference a 24-hour period can be! Yesterday was April 1 and Mother Nature wanted to play a cruel April Fools joke on us with a large drop in temperatures from those near-record levels yesterday.
Wednesday afternoon saw a high of 75 degrees. But this afternoon, we'll see high temps around 45 degrees. The reason why? Clouds and showers, along with a northeast/east breeze, will have us all reaching for our jackets today. And the umbrellas as well.
Temperatures will bounce back to more pleasant levels for Friday with the 60s returning. There will be showers and clouds lingering from overnight tonight into Friday morning, but the skies will gradually clear through the midday hours. This will be a nice treat for all, especially those heading to The Bronx for the Yankees home opener. First pitch is at 1:35 p.m. and the weather will be trending in a positive direction through the game.
Showers will return to the region late in the day on Saturday, and another chance for showers will be possible for Easter Sunday. Will the holiday be a washout? Nope, but brunch, church services and Easter Egg Hunts may be impacted in the midday hours with light rain moving through the region.
