Welch's Fruit Snacks—a staple for kids and adults alike—are now officially free of artificial dyes.

PIM Brands, headquartered in Park Ridge, began eliminating artificial dyes such as Red 40 and Blue 1 back in 2015. Every new product released since 2018 has used colors only from natural sources.

Some of the final flavors to make the full transition—mixed fruit and berries 'n cherries—have now gone artificial dye-free, according to PIM Brands.

The company's next step is to remove artificial dyes across all its products, said Michael Rosenberg, president and CEO of PIM Brands.
