A West Berlin man has been charged with robbery after an incident at a McDonald’s in Berlin Township, authorities said.

William Alvarado Jr., 42, allegedly entered the McDonald’s on Route 73 around 7 a.m. Friday, Feb. 13, wearing a mask and demanding money from employees, officials said.

Authorities said Alvarado kept his hands in his shirt pocket during the robbery, leading employees to believe he was armed, though no weapon was displayed. He fled on foot after receiving cash. No injuries were reported.

Investigators used surveillance video to track Alvarado from the restaurant to his vehicle and then to his home in West Berlin, where he was taken into custody, officials said.

Authorities urged anyone with information to contact the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit or Berlin Township police.
