Toms River crash suspect indicted for vehicular homicide

Officials say Tammie Malek and Amy Thorn, both of Toms River, were also indicted for hindering his apprehension.

A Lakehurst man accused of fatally striking a pedestrian in Toms River was indicted for vehicular homicide on Thursday.

Police say the crash occurred around 1 a.m. near Lakewood Road and Raymond Avenue on July 31.

Officers found Allen Adams lying seriously injured in the roadway. The 50-year-old Lumberton resident was later pronounced dead at a hospital.

Douglas Smith was arrested in connection with the incident. Officials say Tammie Malek and Amy Thorn, both of Toms River, were also indicted for hindering his apprehension.
