Officials say Boyd drove off and struck another car. Police body camera video revealed that an apparent gunshot was heard coming from the area of Boyd’s vehicle. They say that Boyd backed into a marked patrol car and troopers responded by firing at Boyd’s car.

Boyd then allegedly got out of the car and tried to run away. He was shot and is now recovering in the hospital.

Officials say he was wanted on unrelated warrants. They say a gun was found near Boyd.
