A Montclair Township man is facing charges related to the Halloween terror plot in Detroit, according to U.S. Attorney Alina Habba.

Habba says that her office has filed charges against Tomas Kaan Jimenez-Guzal, of Montclair. She says that Jimenez-Guza, “along with other co-conspirators, used encrypted messaging applications to plan travel to Turkey, and then to Syria, to join ISIS as fighters.”

Habba says that these messages also included pictures of Jimenez-Guzal “standing in front of the ISIS flag, holding a knife.”
Jimenez-Guzal was charged with conspiring to provide material support to a designated terrorist organization.
