Low water pressure, boil water advisory continues in parts of Paterson and nearby towns

Officials say areas west of the Passaic River—including Hillcrest, Bunker Hill, North Haledon, Haledon, and Prospect Park—may not see full pressure for several more days due to higher elevation.

Five days of little or no water service in Paterson and nearby towns may be coming to an end, but some residents will still face low pressure.

Officials say areas west of the Passaic River—including Hillcrest, Bunker Hill, North Haledon, Haledon, and Prospect Park—may not see full pressure for several more days due to higher elevation.

Crews have not reached the actual break but have isolated the leak, allowing water to return to the system.

“The system is starting to recover,” said Jim Mueller, Executive Director of PVWC. “We expect in the next day or two that the system will continue to recover, but it is slow.”

The boil water advisory remains in effect for all affected areas.

Comfort stations at JFK High School will stay open, bottled water will continue to be distributed, and mutual aid for the fire department is still active—including help from Cape May Count.
