Sayreville Emergency Management says multiple dead geese were found in Kennedy Park Tuesday morning.

Caution tape is around a walking trail and pond that starts at the boat ramp.

Sayreville officials also say because of the ongoing bird flu situation, the NJ DEP, NJ Fish and Wildlife and Middlesex County Health Department are investigating.

H5N1 in New Jersey as of 2/21/25:

  • Human cases: None.

  • Wild birds: Confirmed detections have occurred in Warren and Salem Counties. Presumptive positive detections have occurred in Atlantic, Bergen, Burlington, Cumberland, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Morris, Ocean, and Sussex

    counties.

  • Poultry: Presumptive positive detection in Union County.

  • Cattle/livestock: None.
