A winter storm could potentially bring up to 9 inches of snow to parts of South Jersey.

News 12 Storm Watch meteorologists say that while this storm is expected to mostly impact the southern half of the state – most of the state is expected to deal with some snow.

Gov. Phil Murphy told News 12 New Jersey that state Department of Transportation crews are at the ready to clear the roadways of snow. Likewise, utility crews are also on standby in the event of power outages.

SCHOOL CLOSINGS: Closings, delays and schedule changes in New Jersey

The governor advised all New Jersey residents to stay off the roadways as much as possible Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning to allow crews to do their work.

The state DOT has implemented a commercial vehicle travel restriction on multiple state highways. That restriction started at 4 p.m.

Murphy also told News 12 that all 21 counties in the state have initiated Codes Blue, meaning shelters are open for those who need to stay warm.
