Red Cross New Jersey is assisting seven people from two families with temporary shelter and necessities.

There is no word yet on a cause for the fire.

This fire comes on the heels of several fires last week. Two of the fires were fatal, including one at an Edison senior center which took two lives, and another at a Kearny single-family home which also took two lives.

Readington Township recently posted a winter fire safety guide as a reminder on how to best protect yourself and your family during colder months and during the holidays.
