Newark house fires: Timeline for demolition uncertain; injured fire captain in stable condition

A timeline for the demolition of homes that were destroyed in a massive fire in Newark was still uncertain on Sunday evening.

A firefighter who was injured when the building on Seymour Avenue collapsed early Saturday morning was still in the hospital. He is a fire captain who suffered injuries to his face and back. He is in stable condition.

Three other firefighters were released from the hospital.

The Red Cross is assisting 34 people from seven families.
