A New Jersey child services worker has been accused of sexual assault and several other charges.

Trent Collier was indicted Friday for allegedly abusing two minors while serving as a caseworker for the Division of Child Protection and Permanency.

New Jersey State Police’s Internet Crimes against Children Unit and Homeland Security partnered in the investigation.

"These victims were children in vulnerable situations who were allegedly sexually assaulted and silenced,” said New Jersey Attorney General Matt Platkin. “This defendant misused his position to exploit those who needed advocacy and protection the most.”

Collier is also accused of official misconduct.
