Downpours move through this morning across New Jersey

Onshore winds continue to push salt water up against the beaches and into the back bays. Minor to moderate coastal flooding could occur during high tide.

OVERNIGHT: Warm and humid tonight. Occasional storms will come and go this evening. Wind-driven downpours, thunder and lightning will be the main weather issues. When it isn't raining, patchy dense fog will develop. Use caution and be weather-aware when you are traveling tonight.

THURSDAY: Early storms wind down before daybreak. Patchy fog burns off around 8 a.m. Expecting intermittent sunshine and clouds. It will be VERY humid on Thursday. Temperatures will feel much warmer than what is being indicated on thermometers. Slow it down and stay hydrated.

It's possible any leftover energy in the atmosphere could trigger a few isolated, widely scattered thunderstorms tomorrow afternoon into the evening hours.

COMING UP: The skies will begin to clear and the weather will improve greatly for Friday and Saturday.
