Brian Lora, Passaic police officer and relative of mayor, dies at 29

The Passaic Police Department is mourning the sudden loss of Officer Brian Lora, a relative of Passaic Mayor Hector Lora.

Brian Lora, 29, was a three-year veteran and served in the school resource division before joining the force. The cause of death has not been released.

The Passaic Police Department posted on Facebook that Officer Lora was “loyal, fearless and had an exemplary work ethic.”

Paterson Police Department also posted on social media: “The hearts of every member of our department are with the men and women of the Passaic Police Department during this difficult time.”

He leaves behind his wife, Kimberly, family, friends and fellow colleagues.

Mayor Lora posted a statement on the death, saying in part: “This has been a most devastating and unexpected loss in our family...Please keep Kim and all of us in our families in your prayers. This loss feels beyond overwhelming however our faith remains strong in God. I can't possibly understand His "Why" here, but we continue to trust that He will get us through it."
