Paterson police are investigating a shooting that was reported at a house Tuesday morning across the street from the Taub Middle School. This is located along Union Avenue at the intersection of Don Bosco Avenue.

Paterson police patrol cars have been keeping watch on the house since the shooting. City officials say the shooting took place around 8:30 a.m. No one was injured.

News 12 New Jersey has been informed that because of the shooting, Taub Middle School was placed on lockdown for a time. The shooting took place as students were starting their day. That lockdown has since been lifted.

Neighbors close to the property include an insurance agency, mechanic shops and car sales lots.

Some of those in the neighborhood tell News 12 that a car drove by and was shooting at the home before speeding off.

Passaic County Sheriff officers were at the house collecting evidence.

News 12 is waiting to hear from police as to exactly why this house was targeted and if any suspects have been identified.
