Brooklyn Assembly Member Helene Weinstein has announced that her retirement will take effect by the end of 2024.

The chair of the Assembly Ways and Means Committee broke the news on social media, saying in part, “I want to thank all my constituents throughout the years for placing their confidence in me. I also want to thank all of my current and past staff members in both Albany and Brooklyn who have assisted me and our community throughout my years in office."

There will be no incumbent running in the 41st District in Brooklyn in November’s election.
