News 12 Storm Watch Team meteorologists are tracking wet weather that is expected to last through early Wednesday morning - just in time for holiday traveling. News 12 will continue to monitor any changes in the forecast and its impacts on flights and roadways.

Wet and windy weather will have an impact on travelers tonight and tomorrow.

New Jersey started to see light, but consistent rain by as of 4 p.m. The winds will progressively become more of an issue much later tonight and into Wednesday. Gusts could be as high as 45-50 mph.

MORE: News 12 New Jersey Weather Center

The rain will last until around 4 a.m. on Wednesday.

Worst punch of rain: 11 p.m. Tuesday until 3 a.m. Wednesday  (1 inch of water could collect quickly, causing minor street flooding)

Wind: 15-25 mph. Gusts 35-50 mph (Power might flicker at the Shore.)

Worst wind: 1 a.m. until 5 a.m. 40-50 mph gusts, especially along the coast.

Flooding: Minor coastal flooding during Wednesday morning. High tide is 2 a.m. – 4 a.m. Street flooding is possible because drains and sewers could be clogged with leaves and other debris.

The rain will be clearing the region just before daybreak. So the rain is affecting early morning travelers.

The rest of Wednesday will be clouds and sun and the winds are still quite blustery. Winds and airports do not mix well, so delays will build through the day. It will feel cooler than what the thermometers are telling us. Dress for temperatures that feel like the upper-40s.

THANKSGIVING: Noting but sunshine, breezy and cooler weather. Morning low of 43 degrees will slowly rise through the day to a max of 55. The breeze could make it feel colder.
