Trinitarios gang member convicted for role in 2019 murder

A high-ranking member of the Trinitarios gang has been convicted of multiple federal charges for his role in a 2019 murder case.

The Attorney for the Southern District of New York says William Jones, also known as "Principe," was found guilty of racketeering conspiracy, murder in aid of racketeering, and firearms offenses for his role in the murder of Frederick Delacruz.

Authorities say Jones lured Delacruz from the Bronx to Long Island and fatally shot him because Delacruz was acting as a confidential informant for law enforcement.
