Newark police are asking for the public’s help with identifying suspects who shot an East Orange pastor at his home last month.

Pastor Timothy Huff continues to fight for his life in the ICU at University Hospital. The shooting happened Aug. 24 when Huff confronted a group of young women who smashed the windshield of his son’s car. He told the group he was calling the police.

But before the police arrived, two of the suspects shot at the pastor’s house. One of the bullets went into the home hitting the pastor in the chest. Police are asking for the public’s help to identify any of the suspects, one of whom was driving a green BMW sedan bearing a Nevada license plate.

Pastor Huff remains stable but still in critical condition. He had two more major surgeries in addition to the three previous surgeries.

The pastor’s family, friends and congregation prayed for a breakthrough at a vigil outside the hospital.
