A woman from Westfield is suing a bar in Point Pleasant Beach, claiming she was given too much alcohol which in turn contributed to her getting injured.

Mary Santoro claims her injuries from a drunken fall were caused by Martell’s Tiki Bar overserving her alcohol. The lawsuit cites a state law that holds businesses responsible for damages if the person was visibly drunk and still being served.

This is not the first time Martell’s has been sued for overserving alcohol. In 2013, a settlement was reached in a case of a fatal drunk driving crash that resulted in the bar losing their liquor license for a month.
