New Jersey experienced a second day of excessive heat Friday with sauna-like temperatures. News 12’s Jim Murdoch visited the Asbury Park boardwalk to show how the beaches fared in the heat.

“It's great for the businesses. A lot of people come down, they patronize all the businesses and the bars and restaurants and shops. The hotter the better. People are out here enjoying the beach and everything,” said Lisa Badach, of Asbury Park.

Despite the heat, around 1,500 people gathered outside the legendary Stone Pony for a concert Friday by One Direction alum Louis Tomlinson. Lines began forming Thursday outside as fans waited to score a wristband and a pass to get next to the stage.

Union resident Adrienne Caceda says, "We all love this man so bad, and we all just want to have an opportunity to see him up close so that's basically the reason why."
