Smoky conditions, chance of rain for Friday in New Jersey

New Jersey’s air quality does not improve much throughout the day making it more difficult for anyone who is respiratory compromised.

New Jersey will continue to see hazardous air quality due to the wildfires out in Canada bringing smoke to the region.

News 12 Storm Watch Team meteorologists say that rain is possible for Friday, but that the smoky conditions could hinder these storms. This rain is badly needed due to the dry conditions around the state.

TODAY: Chance of some pop-up rain and thunderstorms. Hazy sun in the day, with clouds developing by lunchtime. Hit-or-miss rainstorms for the afternoon. Daytime highs around 72 degrees. Overnight lows around 58.

SATURDAY: Mostly cloudy skies, with some sun peeking through. Daytime highs around 76 degrees. Overnight lows cool to around 62.

SUNDAY: Mostly sunny and warm. Daytime highs around 84 degrees. Overnight lows cool to around 65.

MONDAY: Cloudy with daytime highs in the low-80s. Overnight lows in the mid-60s.

COMING UP: Mix of sun and clouds for the upcoming week. Warm temperatures in the low-80s.
