Two Burlington County men were in the right place at the right time to help save a man moments before his car burst into flames – and it was all caught on a dashboard camera.
Larry Scott and Domenique Golden were both at the intersection of Sunset and Salem roads in Burlington Township Sunday afternoon when they saw a car crash into a telephone pole at the Shell Gas Station.
“He hit the fire hydrant and he was sitting there, water spreading all over the place and then, when I got out of the truck to run to him, he was driving off that way towards the telephone pole. Then he did a 360 in the middle of the street, no cars were coming, but he did a 360 and then ended up down near that sign,” Scott says.
The two men were able to jump into action before the police could arrive on the scene.
"I'm saying, ‘Look man, there's fire coming. You've got to get out of here, you've got to get out of here,’” says Scott. “And then by that time Domenique, which I'm thankful he was there because I probably wouldn't have been able to pull them up by myself."

“At this point, the smoke was coming crazy. We were able to get the car door open. Mr. Scott under his seatbelt and we started pulling,” says Golden. “We were able to get them out of the vehicle and get them over to the grass.”
Moments later, the car caught fire.
“After we got him to a certain point, I mean, it just went boom,” says Scott.
The Burlington Township Police Department is praising the men’s actions.
“They put themselves in harm’s way for the benefit of that gentleman, and certainly, in my opinion, it was heroic,” says Lt. James Sullivan.
Scott and Golden say that they now share a bond they will never forget.
“We are responsible for one another, whether you know them or you don’t know them,” says Scott.
The driver who was rescued was taken to the hospital for minor injuries. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
