Two lives were lost Monday following a domestic dispute gone tragically wrong.
Police were called to 25 Espy Drive after neighbors heard a women screaming for help. After forcing their way into the home, officers discovered the lifeless body of 34-year-old Tawana Grant. Police say Grant had been stabbed to death.
Grant's boyfriend then locked himself in a bedroom, according to investigators. Police say they tried to reason with him, but when he finally emerged he lunged at them with a knife and was shot in self-defense. He was hit twice in the chest.
Investigators have identified the murder suspect as 37-year-old Daryl Elder, of Union. Elder was pronounced dead at the scene.
