An 11-year-old Burlington County boy’s efforts to save his Little League baseball season is making New Jersey proud.
Heavy rain caused major flooding at the ball fields in Mount Holly and the Rancocas Valley Little League needed money to help get everything ready for the summer season.
Christian Corbe-Zollo got to work organizing a donation effort so that he and his friends could play. Donations started to come in – enough for new equipment. Volunteers helped to get the fields ready.
“I just wanted to play and I couldn’t,” the boy said. “I just felt bad for my community and I just wanted to help them out with an equipment drive.”
Corbe-Zollo was able to raise over $3,000. There is also an active GoFundMe page for anyone else who would like to donate.
