New details have emerged about the controversial "Street Cop" training that hundreds of New Jersey officers attended in 2021.
State officials have revealed that even more officers attended the training than initially reported, and $1 million of taxpayer money was spent on it.
The training has been criticized by the state comptroller for teaching violent and excessive force tactics, as well as including derogatory comments about women and minorities.
In response, the attorney general previously ordered all departments that attended the training to be retrained, with 240 departments complying.
However, it is unclear if the attorney general will make another retraining mandate, given the new report that 377 police departments were involved.
The attorney general's office was asked for comment, but no response has been received yet.
