A top New Jersey basketball player and future NBA draft pick stopped by his alma mater last week.
Karl-Anthony Towns made a surprise visit to St. Joseph High School in Metuchen, which bears the star athlete's name all over the school.
Towns won a Tournament of Champions title during his senior year, and was a finalist two previous years.
The 6-foot-11 center went on to lead an undefeated University of Kentucky to the Final Four.
Towns has since announced his decision to leave Kentucky to pursue a career in the NBA. He released handwritten letters to thank everyone involved in his only college season.
"They only deserve the best of me," Towns said. "I had to make sure I gave the best of myself to them, and the best way I felt was to give them a handwritten letter."
Towns is projected to be among the top two picks in the NBA.
