Toms River Police Chief Mitch Little was suspended for two days, reportedly over an administrative issue.
The suspension comes amid growing tension between the Toms River Police Department and Mayor Daniel Rodrick.
A spokesperson for the union representing Little wrote in a statement, “Chief Little has the full support of the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs Of Police and we will stand by him as he continues to fight off meritless attacks from Mayor Roderick and his administration.”
News 12 New Jersey reached out to the mayor’s office for more information and is waiting to hear back.
