Residents in Monmouth County now can get a free ride to medical appointments, grocery stores and food pantries as part of a free wellness transportation program.
The county partnered with EZ Ride to provide residents with two free round-trips a week. It works like Uber or Lyft.
Residents can get rides for medical, wellness and nutrition appointments. That's includes trips to the doctor, dentist, therapist, grocery store, food pantry and farmers market, as well as to get pharmacy and lab work done.
Adults must have a working cellphone so EZ Ride can message details about a trip. Children can also use the service but only with a parent or guardian.
