Temperatures are expected to dive over the next few hours. The could also be a stray shower, with raindrops or flurries during early parts of the overnight. Overnight temperatures will drop to the 20s, leading to refreezing and black ice concerns. Be aware of an increased chance of falling or sliding on icy spots.
Friday is shaping up to be a wonderful day. There will be plenty of sunshine (and snow melting) with temperatures well above freezing. A front passes through Sunday morning, bringing with it the chance for accumulating snow. The timing on this looks to be after 6 a.m. and before 2 p.m. The snow forecast as of Thursday evening is between a coating and 1 to 2 inches. This could lead to slick and slippery conditions on pavement and sidewalks. The News 12 Storm Watch Team will continue to monitor this as it gets closer to the second half of the weekend. Before that, temperatures will be seasonable on Friday and Saturday.
The News 12 Storm Watch Team is keeping an eye on a stronger storm system for early next week. Guidance as of Thursday evening has this still wanting to stay more to the south-- but there is still the potential for the borough to see snow, ice, and rain. Friday and Saturday will feel quite nice, with temperatures nearing 50 degrees on Saturday. Monday's forecast temperatures are the coldest they will be over the next week. Warmer temperatures (in the 40s and potentially near 50) will quickly follow.
