A 6-year-old Wyckoff girl is dead after accidentally hanging herself on a backyard play set Friday.
Police say the girl?s neck somehow became entangled in a rope that was tied to a wooden railing. They say the wooden railing was above the slide she was playing on.
Neighbors in the tight-knit Bergen County community say they couldn't believe the frantic scene Friday night. Many say they are still in shock.
Police, EMS and paramedics tried to resuscitate the child but were not successful. She was pronounced dead a short time later Friday night at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood.
News 12 New Jersey sources and published reports identify the little girl as Tahe Choi.
Neighbors say she lived on Hopper Avenue with parents and an older brother. Police say the investigation is ongoing.
