Atlantic City police say an officer shot and wounded as he responded to a robbery in progress at a casino garage has been upgraded from critical to stable condition.
Joshlee Vadell underwent surgery after the shooting occurred early Saturday. His name was made public on Monday, but further details on his injuries haven't been disclosed
Authorities say Vadell, a nine-year veteran of the force, and another officer saw the robbery being committed. Vadell was shot and injured as he exited his vehicle.
The second officer returned fire and struck one suspect, 25-year-old Jerome Damon, of Camden. Damon was found dead a short distance away.
The second officer's name hasn't been released
Police have arrested 19-year-old Martell Chisholm, of Millville, and 28-year-old Demetrius Cross, of Bridgeton, in connection with the shooting.
