(03/13/06) TRENTON ? Workers spent Monday preparing Trenton?s Sovereign Bank Arena for the upcoming NCAA women?s basketball tournament.
Employees at the facility say they are working hard to make sure the arena meets the NCAA?s stringent guidelines. Security is also a concern for employees preparing the arena. The FBI has warned about possible terrorist attacks targeting sporting events in the U.S. Security officials at the arena say they?ve been working with the NCAA for the past 18 months to make sure the event will be safe for spectators.
Arena representatives hope the NCAA tournament sparks interest among planners to hold future events in Trenton. The FBI says they have no specific intelligence about attacks on the NCAA tournament. The threat was posted on a jihadist Web site.
