A 71‑year‑old man was found dead Monday afternoon at a chemical plant in Linden inside a liquid container.

Police say they believe the man was on top of the container when he fell inside while working to fill 6,000 gallons of mineral oil.

His identity has not been released.

Federal authorities are looking into the death.
