Construction crews will be back on Route 35 Monday morning in Ocean County.
The northbound lane in Seaside Park is completely torn up and likely won't be finished until the end of June.
There is currently one lane open in each direction and a detour on the corner for those headed south. Drivers will be happy to hear that the detour is expected to be gone by Memorial Day weekend.
This means that people will be able to drive all the way straight through to Island Beach State Park without zigzagging in and out of side streets.
Some businesses have put up signs to help confused drivers get around new medians.
Further north in Lavallette, the northbound side remains down to just one lane. By Memorial Day, all lanes are expected to be open.
The goal is to have Route 35 in Brick, Toms River and Seaside newly paved with brand new gas lines and drainage.
The work on Route 35 started in 2013 in response to damage created by Superstorm Sandy. The total cost is $341 million.
