A teacher at Colonia High School in Woodbridge was arrested Tuesday for allegedly sending sexually explicit text messages to a male student.

Investigators say Karen Binder, 42, asked for the 17-year-old?s cell phone number on February 22 and began text messaging him. Prosecutors say the teen?s parents told school officials on February 26 that Binder had sent messages saying she wanted to perform a sex act on their son.

Binder, who is a social studies teacher, is suspended without pay. She has also been charged with sending explicit text messages to another teen who does not attend Colonia High School. Binder?s lawyer says his client is expected to plead not guilty to the charges.
