Woman, dog dead in apparent murder-suicide in Little Egg Harbor Township

A 911 call was placed early Saturday by someone who believed a person was breaking into her apartment on Whitemarsh Court.

Two people and a dog have died in Little Egg Harbor Township following an apparent murder-suicide.

A 911 call was placed early Saturday by someone who believed a person was breaking into her apartment on Whitemarsh Court.

Police say when first responders arrived, they found a 49-year-old woman and a dog dead.

A 52-year-old man was found shot in the head, but still conscious at the time. He died shortly after at a hospital.

Police say at this time, the man is suspected to have been the shooter.
